Clean People in most Dirty City

Clean People in  most  Dirty City : We Indians Claim  ourselves to  be the cleanest  people bathing  everyday  sometimes more then once, keeping  our  houses so  clean, even  making  fresh  food three times a day. Then  Why  Delhi  is the most  polluted City  of the World.

Doesn't  make any  sense right,  National  Geographic published an  article about  our city  claiming  it to  be the dirtiest. I  was born  and raised in Delhi. Meri  Delhi Meri  Shaan,  I  guess its sounds good and looks good when  printed on  a wall. It  breaks my  heart to  see Delhi  getting  nastier.

"From the skies above to the ground below, Delhi is polluted. This Indian territory, which includes the capital city of New Delhi, is half the size of Rhode Island, and is home to twice the population of New York City"  -  National  Geographic.

The Yamuna river, by all pollution parameters, is dead. It has just not been officially cremated.” - Sunita Narain is the director of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE),

I  think  its high time to  come out  of houses and clean  the neighborhood. If everyone does their share it  wont  be so  bad. In  one of the episodes of Styamev Jayatey some one talked about  how to  recycle waste. So  we have lot  of brains but we don't  want  to  use. May  be it  wont  have a positive impact  on  any  political  party. If its not  Cricket  or Bollywood we don't  care. We can  suffer and let  the next  generations suffer. No  clean  rivers left no  clean  land left  and no  clean  air to  breath. Plant  trees but  how many,  we don't  want  to  change our  habits but  want trees to  keep  on  cleaning  environment.

When  was the best time to  plan  to  tree,  20 years ago. When  is the next  best  time to  plant  a tree,  today.

May  be its easy  to read and write from  my  clean  office. Most  I  am  doing  is penning  my  thoughts here. At least  we look  for trash  cans when we visit India,  try  to  do  the right  thing.  But  and end up  throwing  trash  here and there when  there's no other option. So many  big  Malls beautiful  landscapes and so  many  monuments,  all going  to  waste if we are not even  appreciating  our  surroundings.  Everyone says the same, what  can  we do. Normal  people are doing  what  they  can  do  clean  there homes. Why  do  I  feel  everything  is so  political,  that nothing  will  happen  if its not  beneficial  to  any political  party. Clean  India,  was just  a campaign just  for election. Why  we don't  see any  efforts except  basic pictures clicked with a broom  every  now and then just for newspaper.

If you  look  at other countries in  the world that are  taking  major steps to  use solar and cleaner  energy  resources. I think  some major steps need to  be taken  to  help  people breath  better. Breaks my  heart to  see Delhi  suffering. It  is not  limited to  Delhi  if we are polluting  the air we are polluting  Global atmosphere.

Impoverished people in India often have no housing options other than living next to open sewers, like this one in Noida, a city on the border of New Delhi.
